SHINE ON: OWNING YOUR WORTH & WELL-BEING

The workshop was facilitated by DawlCamp Corp., and focused on the impact of bullying, self-esteem, empathy, and self-care.

  • Mental Health Check-in: Teens shared about their mood to check the temperature in the room creating a safe space for expression.

​​

  • Pledge Paint Activity: Teens pledged to stand strong against bullying. 

​​

  • Self-Expression Art & Wrinkled Heart ActivityHands-on activities to understand the impact of bullying and healing through art. 

  • Effects of Bad Hygiene:  Teens learned about the effects of bad hygiene on well-being. They also received hygiene products to help them stay happy and healthy and feel good about themselves.

Painting for Mental
Wellness Workshop

The Canvas Connections: Painting for Mental Wellness Workshop gave teens the opportunity for artistic exploration through their creativity and also provided a way for teens to invest in their mental and emotional well-being. It’s a holistic approach to nurturing teens and empowering them for a brighter future.

Facilitated by H-ART Therapy

  • Unlock Your Creativity: Teens engaged in various art activities, encouraging them to think creatively and express themselves freely.

  • Boost Your Mood: Creating art provided an outlet for emotions, relieving stress and promoting feelings of happiness and satisfaction.

  • Foster Mindfulness: Through focused artistic activities, teens practiced being present in the moment, enhancing self-awareness and emotional regulation.

  • Boost Confidence: Successes in completing artwork and receiving positive feedback boosted teens' self-esteem and belief in their creative abilities.

Resilience Workshop

Relive the inspiring moments of our Resilience workshop, a remarkable event that brought together teen girls in a transformative experience designed to empower them on their journey towards resilience and envisioning their future goals.

Highlights

  • Guest Speaker The workshop featured guest speaker Delrisha White, a dynamic social impact leader who fearlessly addresses educational inequity, racial, and socioeconomic injustice through the power of education and storytelling.
     

  • Identifying and Managing Stress: The workshop equipped teens with strategies to recognize and cope with stress effectively.

  • Setting and Achieving Goals: Providing tools for your teen to set realistic goals and work towards them with determination.

  • Building Positive Relationships: Exploring the importance of healthy relationships and fostering positive connections with peers and adults.

  • Overcoming Obstacles: The workshop taught teens how to stay resilience by addressing obstacles as opportunities for growth.

  • Creating a Vision for the Future: Teens were able to design their own Vision Boards for their future goals and aspirations. The event inspired teens to envision their future and take steps towards achieving their dreams.

Unlocking Your Potential

Discover one of our past workshops, the "Unlocking Your Potential" workshop, where participants embarked on a profound exploration of personal growth and empowerment. This empowering event was designed to equip individuals with the tools and knowledge needed to elevate their confidence, communicate with strength and style, and leverage the power of language to bring about positive change in their lives.

  • Empowerment and Self-Discovery: Through engaging discussions and activities, participants learned how to harness their inner strength and overcome self-doubt, allowing them to unlock their true potential.

  • Building Confidence: Confidence is the key to success, and this workshop delved into various techniques and strategies to build self-esteem. 

  • Speaking with Strength and Style: Effective communication is at the heart of personal and professional success. Our workshop provided teens with valuable insights into articulating their thoughts with and using essential public speaking skills.

  • The Power of Language: Participants learned how to use language as a tool for positive change, shifting their mindset, and creating the life they desire.

  • Understanding Code-Switching: In this workshop, we addressed what code-switching is and why it's so prevalent in society. Participants gained a deeper understanding of this practice and learned how to navigate it.

Build Me Up

The "Build Me Up" workshop was dedicated to equipping teen girls with essential life skills and knowledge, focusing on social wellness in areas such as empathy, stress management, healthy coping skills, cultivating and sustaining healthy friendships, recognizing personal strengths, and boosting self-confidence. This event aimed to create a supportive and nurturing environment in which participants could build themselves up, learn, and develop into confident, resilient, and empathetic individuals.

  • Empathy Workshops: The event had engaging sessions on empathy, teaching young girls the importance of understanding and sharing the feelings of others. Through interactive activities and discussions, participants learned how to be more compassionate and considerate in their interactions with peers and in their communities.

  • Stress Management Strategies: Recognizing that the teenage years can be stressful, the workshop included expert-led sessions on stress management techniques. Teens gained valuable insights on how to cope with the pressures of adolescence, school, and other challenges.

  • Healthy Coping Skills: This event equipped attendees with practical tools for dealing with difficult emotions and situations. This encouraged self-reflection and the development of constructive coping mechanisms.

  • Friendship Building and Maintenance: The workshop emphasized the importance of forming and nurturing healthy friendships. Through group activities and discussions, attendees learned how to identify positive relationships, resolve conflicts, and maintain strong and supportive friendships in their lives.
